November Lockdown
Following the government announcement of a second national lockdown we are no longer permitted to hold gathered services. We can still broadcast from our building so we will continue with our mix of online team only live stream services and pre-recorded services.
Christmas services
Our plans for Christmas services are coming together. We want to be able to meet all together for our Christmas services rather than a small number in the building and the rest online. We obviously can’t do a live Nativity or Carol Service in the current climate, so we have plans to share online services together with two great Christmas video services online. We also plan to give our streaming and worship teams a break over Christmas after their amazing effort over the last 6 months. So on Christmas day we will produce a short video message and worship for you to connect to and 27th December will also be all of us together online.
Our next in person gathered service will be January 3rd providing there are no further government restrictions. We will open bookings for this once we know that we are again permitted to meet.

September UPDATE:
Church Sunday gatherings
Following the results of our survey and our Elders meeting on Monday this week, I would like to share with you our plans for Sunday Services in the coming season. After prayer and discussion the Elders and I believe it is wise to offer a staged return to services.
We will offer three morning services during September and October (Sept 20th, Oct 4th, Oct 18th) leading up to November. Our teams will then be ready to host weekly church services again and our new live stream equipment and streaming teams will be ready to stream services weekly. Therefore, our aim is that from Sunday 1st November we will have weekly Sunday gatherings which will also be streamed as our online service.
Online Services:
In September and October we will continue to offer an online service weekly. These online services will be a mix of recorded services and services streamed live from church.
Gathered Services:
We will be offering three gathered Sunday morning services at CLC on September 20th, October 4th, and October 18th. These gathered services will be limited to a maximum of 35 people in line with social distancing and will follow our risk assessment and the Government’s guidelines to ensure we offer the safest environment possible. We believe this approach will enable some learning and development as we offer some opportunities to gather. This approach will also afford us the opportunity to grow in our experience of managing COVID safe services and our ability to live stream services online. Further information of how to book into our services will follow in the coming weeks. Be assured we will ensure everyone who wants to attend services has an equal opportunity to do so.
A flexible approach in a changing landscape:
All of the options above are dependent on the COVID 19 situation and Government guidance. We are confident that with any changes in the virus situation we will be able to adapt between our three options for services (pre-recorded online only, gathered services, and live stream gathered services). As lockdown restrictions lift we will increase numbers allowed in gathered services; conversely should a local lockdown occur we have the ability to shift back to only online services.
I am so looking forward to beginning to gather together again. If you have any questions regarding the resumption of services and the continuing offer of church online then please don’t hesitate to contact me.
