Updates from Pastor Craig 04.05.2020

Hello everyone,

Praying you are all well and staying safe. I shared at online church on Sunday that I believe we are in a season of alignment, a time where we are to turn to God and align our words, our attitudes and our actions with God’s word, His character and His nature. The eyes of the world are also searching for God at this time. According to a new survey conducted by tearfund a quarter of adults in the UK have watched or listened to a religious service since the coronavirus lockdown began. One in 20 have started praying for the first time during the crisis. The Church of England also reporting unexpectedly high numbers of people are tuning to online or broadcast services, and 6,000 people phoned a prayer hotline in its first 48 hours of operation. Let us align with Jesus that we may reflect His glory for the world to see. Let us also pray for a great revival in the earth as eyes are turned to Jesus.

Why not join with us on Wednesday evenings led by Dave & Sue as we pray for our church and our world. Join us at 7:30pm – 8:10pm via zoom (Contact us for details)

Lot’s to share with you again this week as we continue to host church online and serve one another in love during this challenging season.

Church in the Square presents United:

As the churches in St Helens join together in unity leading up to Pentecost why not join us for a free week long programme of online content to engage, inspire, and transform! 25-31 May 2020. On Sunday May 31st our online service will be a joint town wide service in unity across the town. Watch the promo video here:

Greetings & Stories:

Why not record a family greeting or an encouraging testimony so we can see more of you in our services in May. We love seeing our family during our services and while we can’t see each other physically the joy of seeing you by video is a real blessing.

Youth

On 17th May Tim Alford our National leader from Limitless Elim’s youth ministry will be bringing our word, we will celebrate our youth and have them involved in our online service.

Gill is also launching some new opportunities for our youth and for each of us. Fearless Youth will be hosting Friday night zoom meetings for our young people from 8pm-9pm please email fearlessyth@sthelensclc.com for access details from Gill.

Also on Friday evenings 7pm -7.30pm Gill will be hosting zoom Prayer meetings for us to pray for our young people, again please email Gill for login details.

The Generosity shown by you at this time continues and has been amazing. We have been able to bless more people from our hardship fund this week and I would again like to say a huge thank you and commend you for sharing financially with those in need. Stay in touch:

Share the good news:

People across our nation are turning their eyes to God at this time. Please help us share the good news to a world lost without Christ by following, liking, and sharing our online activity. Our aim in this season is to stay in touch with one another and reach out to those that are yet to know the fulness of a relationship with Christ. Along with sharing our content why not share your own story, a prayer or song that is blessing you currently. Invite people to online church. The world is hungry for hope and Jesus is the hope they need.

Alignment:

As a number of you requested a copy of the poem I wrote as a summary of yesterday’s word, I will close this week’s update with it. Let us align with God and Shine as the light of Jesus in the world.

Align Shine Repeat:

I am preparing you my heroes for the big reveal,

but before you make your bow it is time for you to kneel.

Time to bend low, the clay in my hands.

Time to take a knee and allow me, to be the I am.

To mould you, to shape you, to transform you afresh.

Live by the Spirit & not by the flesh.

Make room for the “great I am” to shine through the “you are”. The three in one God dwelling in you, awesome & transcendent, yet near not far.

Identity in Christ, living by the Spirit to glorify the Father. You are the body of Christ His hands, His feet, the light of the world Align, Shine, repeat!

Heroes arise in great kingdom feats, exploits of Kindness of love, grace, and peace. I am preparing you deeply to live by me rightly that your light may shine, higher, wider, further, more brightly!

You are the body of Christ His hands, His feet, the light of the world Align, Shine, repeat!

Your righteousness is my gift given free, yet your new life must be lived new for me. My love is so great my generosity renowned I give the righteous gift then reward you a crown.

Live in the righteousness freely given and yours will be a life more than worth living. Flourishing useful long lasting, majestic and stable trust me to reward you know I am able.

You are the body of Christ His hands, His feet, the light of the world Align, Shine, repeat!

Love and blessings

Craig
