Weekly Update 14/09/20

Updates from Pastor Craig 14.09.2020

Hi everyone

We have been busy these last few weeks preparing the church building and organising your bookings as we ready ourselves for live in person services again. We are really looking forward to seeing you. Our online services continue to be a blessing to us and we so appreciate the talent and effort of all of those involved. This has been a challenging season but the Church of Jesus Christ continues to be built by him and the enemies plans will not prosper as Jesus calls his church to advance the Kingdom of God in the earth. We continue to see our reach and influence for the kingdom go beyond our walls as our online presence takes the good news of Jesus into new and fresh areas each week.

Church Sunday gatherings

New Government guidance:

From Monday this week the new government guidance around social gatherings comes into effect with no more than 6 people allowed to gather socially inside or outdoors. Thankfully places of worship are exempt from this and as long as we adopt the correct measures our services can still go ahead. Please only attend if you have booked a place as we will not be allowed to admit people who haven’t booked.

Gathered Services:

Yesterday we showed our church service walk through video to help you know what to expect when you have booked into a service. Watch it here for help with reserving your place and to see what measures we have put in place.

Our Service for 20th September is now fully booked. You can still book your places for October 4th & October 18th by following the link below:

Elim Prayer

A message from our movement:

In light of the continuing uncertain times I am even more encouraged that praying and fasting online together next week is significant and vital.

There are different ways for you and the church to engage. Here’s a short promo video – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JQClfg_uxJMthat unpacks the various ways to engage. More detailed information is below.

Morning Prayer + Communion  (Elim FB Live)

Tuesday 15 – Thursday 17 September – 7.30am-8.00am

Start your day right! Join in with others across the Elim Movement as Elim leaders lead us in prayer, devotions and communion.

Midday Prayer (Tues15th – Thurs 17th Elim + Elim Prayer Facebook, Twitter, Insta)

We would love you to pray the Lord’s Prayer each day at Midday. Take a picture or a short video of where you’re praying and post it using the hashtag #EngageLordsPrayer #elimprayer

Tuesday 15 September – 7.30pm-8.30pm (Elim FB + Youtube)

Engage Prayer Panel

With a whole host of guests and contributors we will be wrestling with these questions and praying for churches and leaders:

Lockdown Lessons – How can we respond as the church in prayer and action?

Understand the Times – What is God saying and how can we pray and intercede?

Engage Prayer (Elim FB + Youtube)

Live Prayer

Thursday 17 September – 7.30pm-9.00pm

An evening of online prayer and worship. Praying with Elim, for the Kingdom and a fresh move of the Spirit.

Join in as we come together, with guests and contributors, to pray and seek God, to intercede and stand in the gap.

Reassuring Presence and power to build

As we pray with our movement Elim, feel free to join in all of these or choose the sessions which suit you. Praying you connect with God in fresh ways as we seek him for the coming season.

As we close this week I will leave you with this quote from Jesus speaking to Peter which reassures us that His presence and power is with us to build His Church.

Matthew 16:18 NLT
Now I say to you that you are Peter (which means ‘rock’), and upon this rock I will build my church, and all the powers of hell will not conquer it.

Love & Blessings

Craig
